Triage: Existing sprinkler system.

There are three working sprinkler heads (that we know of) behind Woodhaven.  All three are on four foot risers with heads of dubious spreading capacity.  They are manually activated.  To run time you have to do two things:

1) Open the cut off valve.
2) Open an above ground faucet valve with a circular handle.  Note it is blue and has a label hanging from it to distinguish it from all the other faucet valves in the tree!

The cutoff valve is underneath a wooden box:

 

Like most cut off valves, when the handle is at a 90 degree angle to the pipe the valve is closed.  To open it, turn the handle until it is parallel to the pipe.  There apparently is some leakage so be sure to leave the valve in the off position when done.

 

The faucet value you want is the blue one with a label hanging from it.  Open that and the three sprinklers will start working.
